My latest column is on Orson Welles’ final completed film, F For Fake (1975). I figured that with all the attention being given to Citizen Kane, his first film, this week that it might be a good time to look at his final masterwork. The film questions what it means to be an artist, who exactly is an expert, and what makes reality real. When you watch the film, it isn’t such a stretch to see that while Citizen Kanemay be the best film Welles ever made, F For Fake is the most fun.
